Sigh of relief?

Dare I say we can breathe a sigh of relief after today's doctor appointment with the ENT? I'm pleased to report that Owen is still clear after 4 days off the antibiotics, and he's really coming around. His appetite is back, his fun loving/happy personality is back, and he's back to being that that chatty & silly toddler again. Every time the ear infection flares up, he retreats to not wanting to eat, becomes more sluggish and the ear pain even seems to inhibit his talking. But we are very hopeful that the worst is behind us and say our prayers that we continue to be ear infection free. Even the thrush seems to be almost better.

The doctor seems to feel that if we can make it to May without an ear infection, that we might be OK. Kids get much fewer ear infections in the spring/summer/fall when the weather is warmer, so we're almost there. And if he can make it through the summer, his ears will continue to grow and hopefully next cold/flu season his Eustachian tubes will be larger.

But like I said, we're starting to breathe a sigh of relief but know we're not out of the woods yet.
