Getting back to normal...

This week started out a little bumpy. After having quite an upset tummy on Sunday night, Owen continued to not be able to keep anything down through Monday. So we called the ENT suspecting that it was definitely the antibiotic that was causing these symptoms. The downside is that the antibiotic really seemed to clear Owen up. So even though we would have liked him to get a few more days of this bug kicking antibiotic, it was better for him to get off of it and hope he got enough.

So Monday screeched to a halt, as Owen obviously couldn't go to school, that meant Mommy couldn't get to work. He basically just sat on my lap all morning sipping juice, and watching Sprout network - Owen's favorite TV shows. I know, I know, TV is so bad, but when he's not feeling well, it's worth it to let him sit with me and watch some shows for some down time. We had his pediatrician appointment for his 15 month check up. Since Owen was pretty sick all weekend, we decided not to give him his 15 month vaccinations. They can be given to him at the 18 month check up, when he's hopefully healthy and ear infection free. Everything else looked good, and fortunately at this point, Owen's ears were clear. He did have a bit of Thrush, due to the constant doses of antibiotics these last 10 weeks... but extra yogurt and some medicine should clear that up. Next step - go back to the ENT on Thursday, and hopefully they will still be clear. If so we might be able to postpone/cancel the surgery which is scheduled for next week.

Tuesday was much better. He woke up starving! He gobbled down 2 yogurts, a whole cup of milk, and then stole my pizza! I was so happy to see him interested in food again, as he hasn't had much of an appetite since last week. He was in good spirits and very playful, so we did go to our first class at Harford Gymnastics. He had fun, we did play a bit low key since Owen hadn't had much energy, I didn't want to wipe him out in one class. But he played well, and seemed genuinely interested in the class. Hopefully next week we'll be a bit healthier, and more energetic. I really think he's going to like it and it was so much fun to be back in the old gym! He loved the balance beam and especially giggled on the trampoline... and he also like the pit. I wish they had grownup classes... I missed it. But I'll just live vicariously through Owen for a while.

After a nearly 4 hour nap, Owen woke and had some lunch (very late for lunch, because it was after 4!) but then played with Gabrielle who had come to babysit so Mommy and Daddy could go to their appointment for the new house. He's at such a good age for babysitters, because he's getting to be a lot more fun for them. It was great, can't wait till she can babysit again.

And finally, after nearly a month of waiting for it, Owen's new toy box finally arrived. Mommy and Daddy put it together after Owen went to bed, and Owen discovered it today. He was excited to see something new, but since he had school we didn't have much time to discover all the toys inside. He had a good day at school, and I think is still feeling better, and hopefully tomorrow the ears will be clear and we will not be prepping for surgery next week.
