Happy Birthday Mommy & Busy Weekend

It's been a very busy few days. We have really been taking advantage of the warmer weather and getting outside as much as possible. Owen has been feeling great and doing so well. His vocabulary is growing so rapidly and his ability to communicate his needs is improving every day! I'm so proud of how much he has learned and how interested he is in the world around him. I'm always amazed at how much he understands when I talk to him... it's amazing.

Friday was Mommy's birthday. He was so cute that morning. He did his usual trek half naked through the hallway and ran into Daddy, who handed him my birthday card. Owen very obediently brought it back to me. It was so adorable! At school, Owen made Mommy a birthday card, and brought that home too. It was so nice of the teacher to help Owen make the card, and I have it very proudly displayed on the fridge.

Grandma came Friday afternoon, because Mommy & Daddy had to pick out bathroom tile, kitchen back splash, carpet and hardwoods for the new house. They also did a little furniture shopping and then Daddy took Mommy to Bonefish Grill for her Birthday Dinner. We made it home in time to give Owen a bath, and put him to bed.

Grandma gave Owen some new clothes, and so did Ms. Sue. This hat was so cute, and Owen looked adorable.

Saturday, we went back to the model home in Upper Marlboro to measure for the new couch. We got there right as they opened, and completely redecorated the family room to see if the new couch would work. It's perfect. Grandma was also very excited to see the model and see what our new home will look like. Owen enjoyed walking around and had a ball exploring, although I know he doesn't have a clue that we'll be moving, it was cute to see him explore. When we got home, Owen was really overdue for his nap. So we put him down, Grandma stayed with him and we finally purchased the new couch.

Saturday night, we went to a 30th Birthday Party at the Patterson Bowling Alley for Uncle Tom. Owen stayed home with Grandma, and Mommy & Daddy had a lot of fun. Mommy doesn't like to brag, but she beat Daddy in all 4 games! It was a lot of fun.

Sunday was also busy, we had some house work and cleaning to do, and also shopping and errands to run... It's always busy around here, but today was especially crazy. Owen can walk almost all the way up our hill, which is AMAZING! He walked all the way up to Daddy, when Mommy took this photo. We didn't spend too much time outside Sunday, because it was a little chilly and Owen was looking like he might be getting a cold, so we started to get paranoid, but by Monday everything looked OK. By the time we got our errands done, instead of relaxing, we had to get out of the house so the home could be shown. We went to dinner at the Country Club, and Owen was a trooper. He sat so well throughout the whole meal, and even ate well (a rarity in a restaurant). He's been so funny lately, and just enchanting everyone with his loving and funny personality.

Uncle Alex let Owen borrow a Hess car that lit up and makes police car sounds. He thinks it's the coolest toy around, and hasn't let go of it in 2 days. Too cute! And Grandma gave Daddy a singing frog, that Owen has claimed his... He loves to turn it on and start dancing... It's so cute! He loves "big boy" toys...

Owen had school today, and did really well again. He really loves it now. He doesn't even want to leave when I come to pick him up. He's been staying for lunch lately, and that is working out really well. It gives Mommy more time at the office, and Owen is having fun too. It's a win-win. He was very helpful this afternoon, when Daddy was cleaning up the front yard, Owen wanted to help. He pushed this big broom up and down the driveway... The kid's work is never done.
